Q — Why are there items that I can not get paid for today?
A — As of July 1st 2014, State Law requires, Copper, Catalytic Converters, and Air Conditioner parts $25 or more that payment be mailed.

A — Prices vary depending on current market conditions. Please call (231) 722-6081 for current pricing.
Q — What do I need to recycle a car?
A — The title must be clear of a lien and signed off by the owner on the title. Tires may be removed in the yard.
Q — Foundry Steel
A — Foundry Steel must be 1/8" thick or greater and less than 24" in all directions. Foundry steel must also be free of any plastic, rubber, non ferrous, or chrome.
Q — Cast Iron
A — Prepared Cast Iron must be less than 4' x 4' in all directions and free of any plastic, rubber or non-ferrous. Unprepared Cast Iron will have a lesser value.
Q — Aluminum
A — Aluminum must be free of all non-conforming materials such as: glass, steel, zinc, plastic, adhesive, etc. to be considered prepared. Unprepared grades will have a lesser value.
Q — Aluminum Rim
A — Aluminum or Chrome Rims must be free of iron, wheel weights, valve stems, center caps and steel inserts to be consider prepared. Unprepared rims will have a lesser value.
Q — Batteries
A — Lead acid batteries only.
Q — Radiators
A — All radiators must be free of iron and plastic to be considered prepared. Unprepared radiators will have a lesser value.
Q — Bare Copper
A — #1 Copper wire must be thicker than a No. 2 pencil lead with no iron, enamel coating, plating or insulation. #1 Copper tubing must be free of paint, solder, iron, and heavy corrosion. #2 Copper must be free of iron and insulation to be considered prepared.
Q — Insulated Copper Wire
A — Pricing and grading varies on the amount of copper vs insulation, attachments, or plating of the wire.
Q — Brass
A — Brass grades should be free of all iron, rubber, or plastic to be considered prepared. Unprepared items will have a lesser value.
